The JW Marriott Houston Downtown invited us help them showcased the recently discovered and restored architecture of the Carter room at the Samuel F Carter skyscraper and their new amazing museum quality art collection in the recently remodeled Monet and Picasso rooms. With the amazing art and architecture of this space as the kick off point, inspiration brought us to the elegance of the “Age of Enlightenment” and the era Marie Antoinette. The fashion, the art, and the architecture of that time period were opulent and meticulous in detail just like the newly remodeled downtown J.W.Marriott. Upstairs in the Carter room we wanted to bring attention to the opulence of the deep rich ornate wood architecture. We did this by framing the gorgeous oversize fireplace. The fireplace was flanked on both sides by simple boxwood walls with falling roses and the mantle was covered with a beautiful live floral arrangement and our own oversized paper roses. The elegant table setting included our paper roses place cards, while the dessert table included paper roses on the cake and scattered on the table and a simple paper bouquet of oversized gardenias and laser cut leaves. This shoot also included our own take on opulence and elegance with our creation of a paper wedding dress which you can read more about here.
